What is speed dating?
Speed dating is a social event designed to allow single people to meet and find a potential romantic match. It was first devised in 1998 by Rabbi Yaacov Deyo to help single people assess romantic potential more quickly and easily than through traditional dating or online dating. Despite the rise in the popularity of dating apps, speed dating is still a fairly common way to meet new people especially for those who prefer to start with an in-person connection.

How does it work?
After you have booked and paid for your ticket, you will be invited to a specific venue.
Arrive early to register and get your free drink.
Around 20 singles attend each event (10 of each sex) ladies will find a seat and the gentleman will then sit at each ladies table for around 5 minutes.
In this time you ask questions and hve a quick chat to see if you have anything in common or if there is any spark.
After each date we recommend writing some quick notes on the paper supplied. There will also be a box too tick "do you want to hear from this person again."
Tick the boxes of the people that you have some interest in seeing again.
At the end of the night we compare everybodys notes and within 24 hours you will recieve an email address of people who also want to see you again.

How long is each date?
Six minutes per date is the perfect amount of time enabling you to meet numerous other like-minded single's in one night.
Speed Dating for 6 minutes each allows you to get to know someone briefly, everyone is there to meet other people - just like you.
You have just enough time with each person to decide whether or not you would like to continue the conversation via email.

How many dates will I get?
As per our T&C's we aim for 10 people per night. The minimum that we will run would be 6 people of each sex. Anything less than this and will cancel and either refund your money or credit you to another event.

How will I know how many matches I got?
After attending an event and ticking who you would like chat with again, we will send you an email within 24 hours with the contact details of your matches. Chances are that you will be pleasantly surprised as to how many matches you will get.

Will strangers be given my phone number?
We only swap email addresses with people you have matched with.
We do not give out phone numbers or any other details.
To protect everyone involved we will not forward anyone's details unless there is a match.

What should I wear?
We do not operate a strict dress code, however we generally advise to dress 'Smart Casual', so for example guys; jeans and a smart top are fine, but above all - be yourself!
Wear what you are comfortable with but don't forget that first impressions count!

How strict are the age groups?
The agess groups for each event are a guide. If the age range for example is 20-30 then you are going to be out of place if you are in your forties and you probably wont get any matches.
However, if you are in your early thirties, are young at heart then you are likely to have a successful enjoyable evening, and hopefully meet the right person.
It is always best to drop us an email first to check to ensure that you are able to join the event that evening.

How much does it cost and what's included?
It’s $39 per an event and this includes one free drink, nibbles, professional hosting on the night, score cards and the emailing of your matches. Occasionally, we may offer last-minute deals to selected customers to ensure there are even numbers of sexes on the night.
All you need to do is bring yourself.

Can I cancel?
Yes - provided you contact us by email at least 30 days before the event you will be refunded in full - no questions asked!
Any refund requests between 30 days and 7 days out, can only be credited for another event, if the event is sold out and we can sell your ticket to another guest.
Refund requests with less than 7 days notice can not be accepted, refunded or processed.

What Questions should I ask?
The best speed dating questions help you to work out whether you’re likely to be compatible - on a practical, intellectual and emotional basis. They also help you to stand out from the crowd and make a good first impression.
There are different types of questions.
Some are practical, to help you find out more about the other person’s lifestyle. Like asking what they did last weekend, or describing a favourite holiday.
Others are hypothetical and help you understand how they think and dream, like who would play them in a movie, and if you could be a famous person for a day, who would it be.
